Re: POPCORN SALES

Jamie collected money up front last year and it was quick and painless delivery. I would suggest that is the only way to do it.

It is that time of year again.  Kick off is this week.  For those of you that are interested in selling popcorn to make money for camp, Emmett will have the order forms later this week.

To make things simpler this year, our council has added on-line purchasing.  Each scout will have their own number that their friends and relatives can use to order on-line.  Then those purchases will help that particular boy earn money.  Those purchases on-line will be mailed directly to the purchaser.  There is probably a shipping fee.

You can still place local orders and collect money.  Then we will be able to deliver them personally later this year.  I strongly suggest that you take money up front.  It will make things easier.  And less chance of being stuck paying for unwanted popcorn.  Have your customers write the checks to: "Troop 557".

Remember you can turn your sheets in weekly for prize drawings.  Each fully filled sheet will be one name entry for the council drawings.  You can include your on-line purchasers on your sheets.  That will help you keep track of your earnings.

Spring Break Boy Scout Programs

I looked at the site. You have to pay 2 weeks in advance. Also there
is a fee to just enter the center besides the Badge Activity fee.

They do have it on some Saturdays also.

Here is a web page about the Saturday activities:

training

All committee members need to do the Boy Scout leader fast start training.  If you have young men in either varsity (Teachers) or venturing (Priests) it would be a good idea to also take those courses.  All committee members should also complete the troop committee challenge and youth protection training.

Thank you for all you do in scouting.

Dennis

Parents and Leaders
We need everyone to do on-line training at BSA.

Start with Fast Start and then move on to Youth Protection Training.
You can also do Safety Afloat and Safe Swim Defense if you think you might be on a camp out that may include that.

Post what and when you complete. We'll want to know.

Welcome

I have sent information to your e-mail addresses. Share with those I might have missed. My last e-mail included an e-mail for posting on this site. Use that to send any posts you want. That way we can limit who can post. Anyone can comment on an existing post. We'll work out the kinks.
